The Bombay High Court may just have eased & saved a lot of time for the Advocates as it has made clear that Printouts of Orders From Official Court Website are to be treated as if it was a Certified Copy of Order.
Earlier the Trial Court Judges refused to take a copy of the order from the official website as they were of the view that it was not a certified copy of the order. But Bombay High Court has made it clear since the printout of orders from the official website has sanctity and trial courts are expected to consider the said orders if they are cited after taking a printout from the official Website. The said orders are also available before the trial court from the official website and there can be a counter verification to find out whether such an order is uploaded on the website or not. In this backdrop, the court stated that there is no harm if such a printout from the official website is placed before this court. This move comes after several lawyers in the courtroom have addressed this common issue. The learned registrar(judicial) of the court was then directed to circulate the said order to all the learned Principal District Judges of the district courts in Maharashtra, to bring this aspect to the notice of all the learned judges working in the judicial districts in this state.
